Microsoft is letting people download their Microsoft Accounting Express 2007 program for free. They have a paid version also up for download but their free version covers all the basics you might need in starting up your business. This download has actually been online for awhile so I’m not sure how long it’s going to stay up there. Grab it while it’s there!

The U.S. Small Business Administration has some excellent resources on how to get that business concept out into the real world. They feature links on business planning, leadership, finances, marketing as well as programs that teach you the topics you need to know about when starting a business. If you’re not the reading type, they also have podcasts capturing the most important biz chunks up for download at their website. Though some of their services require that you be based in the States, the site is well worth the check out.
